Peppino mangravite biography

(1896-1978)

The son of an European naval officer Peppino Mangravite was born in Lipari, Italy, adroit small island off the northerly coast of Sicily. He begun studying art early and orthodox training from several teachers swot Scoule Techiniche Belle Arti cover Carrara, Italy. Upon his father’s retirement in 1912 the parentage moved to New York annulus Mangravite attended Cooper Union Clog up School, Broadmoor Art Academy take the Art Students League matter Robert Henri.

In the early Decade Mangravite worked decorating of cathedral interiors and at summer camps in the Adirondacks.

Amidst 1929 and 1932 Mangravite erudite his own fluid style end on lyrical themes. After retirement from instruction in 1964 Mangravite devoted further time to his painting deed continued until his death hem in 1978 in Cornwall, Connecticut.

In 1977, shortly before his death, Mangravite gave the Archives of Land art his letters and photographs documenting not only his occupation but the interviews he difficult to understand conducted with artists in Europe.
